It’s an American tradition to celebrate important events such as the California Gold Rush. We in Big Bear are excited about our fun filled weekends of events coming this summer. OLD MINERS’ DAYS celebrates Big Bear Valley’s history and the lore of our early days.
The Old Mining Days’ entertaining activities begin on Sunday, May 17th with the Miss Clementine & Lucky Baldwin Picnic from 11:00 – 5:00 and the 65th Old Miners’ Association Anniversary Gala 7:00 – 10:00.
“Old Miners’ Days – 2014” will host the Old Miners Heritage Parade in Big Bear Lake. Our Old Miners Heritage Parade will be held Saturday, June 14th at 10:00am. It’s a local favorite. This year’s theme is:
“From Wagon Wheels to Smart Automobiles, Paving the Way to a Sustainable Future”
July will showcase the Big Bear Chili Cookoff. Miners from all over the country will strike out Saturday for some hometown grub at the famous Chili Cook-off. This internationally sanctioned event will be held on Saturday, July 12th in the Bartlett Parking Lot. Don’t forget, the Outhouse Races and Bluegrass Festival will be at the Chili Cookoff!
