The Old Miners Association turns 65 this year and will celebrate this important milestone on Sunday June 1st.
Celebrating its 65th Anniversary this year, the 2014 theme respects the heritage of Old Miners Days while looking forward to what the next 65 years will bring:
“From Wagon Wheels to Smart Automobiles ~ Paving the Way to a Sustainable Future”
Details of the event are as follows:
- 5:00 – 6:00 pm Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction
- 6:00 – 6:45 pm Gala Dinner, Silent Auction Ends
- 6:45 pm – Sponsor Recognition
- 7:00 pm – “Swearin In” of Grand Marshal Liz “Bad Bessie” Harris
- 7:15 pm Melodrama
- 8:15 pm Special Anniversary Tribute
Catering will be provided by Renee of Barnstorm Cafe. Renee is giving us a choice of Ribeye Steak, Chicken or Ratatouille (Vegetarian). Dinner also includes; spring mix salad, German potato salad, roll, mini cheese cakes and coffee. The Bear Cave will provide a no host bar.
All proceeds will go directly to the Old Miners Association. They began in 1949, and are embedded in the history of Big Bear. Your support means the Old Miners can not only continue to produce Big Bear’s longest running events, but also expand their scholarships and mentoring programs.
All guests are invited to attend in dressy casual clothes or what ever else you can wrangle.
